![]() Markus Zusak wrote The Book Thief in 2004. It has been a best seller everywhere and has a movie made about it! It has won the Kathleen Mitchel Award, Book Sense Book of the Year Award for Children's Literature, etc. This book is large and thick. Totalling 552 pages, this is defiantly not a book you can tear through in a week. The Book Thief is about a little girl named Liesel Memminger. She travels to her foster's parent's house and lives there for many years. She goes on all these different and exciting adventures about stealing books (hence the name). This gigantic book is narrated by death which gives this an interesting point of view. She meets this lemon-colored hair boy named Rudy, a Hitler spastic shop owner, and even the mayor's wife!!! The author used new word choices for death and little notes that just add so much to the overall theme of the book.
