I was skeptical about reading this book. It seemed like one of those “she was rich and had it all, but then SOMETHING terrible happens next” kind of stories. You know, the type where the person has everything she could ever want, and then tragedy happens. Too often I find the main character in those stories to act obnoxious and care way too much about her looks.
Ellie's easy to relate. She's not perfect, she makes mistakes, and she sometimes puts a high value on things she shouldn't. However, she also has good intentions, loves her family and friends, and is somewhat brave. From the start of the book, she couldn’t express herself in the right way. I also realized and wanted her to see that Tristian wasn’t the right guy for her. I always felt that she should spend more time with her sister and Owen.
All in all, I see the book as having a particular place, but I feel like it's just not for me because the plot is just as shallow as the baby pool. To some people, this might be the perfect book.
