A lawyer is a licensed professional who advises and represents others in legal matters. Today’s lawyer can be young or old, male or female. Nearly one-third of all lawyers are under thirty-five years old. Almost half of the law students today are women, and women may ultimately be as numerous in the profession as men.
Lawyers undertake numerous duties and responsibilities to clients, judges, and third parties. Since each country has different laws, lawyers should understand the laws governing the country where they practice the profession. They should be knowledgeable about the constitution, as well as various policies that may involve their clients’ case. When these professionals violate or fail to perform their duties, they may be suspended, disbarred or censured. Lawyers earn $113,530 annually. These are some some steps to becoming a lawyer.
