When you are traveling great distances, you will most likely chose the fastest way to get there. So, you are probably going to choose to ride in a plane. There has to be a person flying the plane. That person is called the pilot.

A pilot is a person who operates the flying controls of an aircraft. There are different types of pilots. Some pilots are also called commercial airline pilots. They work for transporting civilians. Other pilots fly military airplanes and fly an aircraft that transport private cargo.[1]

The main responsibilities of this job is to make all the decisions to fly the airplane such as when to take off, how to handle turbulence, how to land, the height and path of the flight. Pilots work primarily in an aircraft. The job requires a considerable amount of time away from home because of overnight layovers. However, it offers flexible schedules. After arrive to the destination especially international flight, a pilot can get 1-2 days of paid rest at the destination. With this, a pilot can really take the chance to travel around the world.

As of 2015, the medium pay of a pilot is $121,914 annually.

If you want to become a pilot you have to get a four-year college degree and go to a flight school. I recommend, a FAA approved flight school that is nationally accredited. Your training program will generally take a year to a year and a half. Pilots who are paid to fly must have at least a commercial pilot’s license from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and  airline pilots must have the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate. [2] There are minimum flight hours required for the positions. Commercial airline requires at 1500 flying hours. It does takes time to become a pilot. [3]
